No — there is no Apple Store in Costa Rica. Apple sells through authorized resellers (iShop, iStore and large retailers), and repairs under Apple warranty are handled by authorized service providers that usually keep the phone for several days. If your iPhone breaks during your trip and you need it back today, an independent repair shop is the practical option. Here is how to decide.

Apple warranty or independent repair?
If your iPhone is under AppleCare+ or the one-year warranty and you can wait until you are back home, use it: an independent repair can void it. If the damage is accidental (a drop, water) and you need the phone now — it is your boarding pass, your bank and your map — an independent repair in one or two hours is usually the better deal.
Ask any shop three things before handing over your iPhone: which screen or battery quality they use, whether iOS will show a “non-genuine part” notice, and how long the warranty is in writing. We answer all three on WhatsApp before you decide.

Buying an iPhone in Costa Rica
iPhones are sold in Costa Rica by authorized resellers and carriers, usually at a higher price than in the US because of import taxes. If you only need a few more days with your phone, repairing it is almost always cheaper than buying a new one here.

Parts, warranty and diagnosis
About replacement parts
No replacement part sold in Costa Rica is 100 % original — not even for iPhone. Every part comes from factories in China. What changes is the quality, and we tell you which grades exist for your model, and what each costs, before the repair.
- Standard. The budget option. On phones that came with an OLED or AMOLED screen it is usually an LCD (incell) panel: it works fine but looks a little duller and uses a bit more battery.
- Premium. A good-factory OLED or AMOLED screen, or a battery with the same or higher capacity than stock. Colors, brightness and battery life very close to what the phone came with.
- Original-grade. The best quality that reaches Costa Rica: by eye and touch it is hard to tell apart from the factory part. It still comes from China and is not an Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi part. Not available for every model.
- Free diagnosis, no obligation to repair.
- Screens and batteries: 1-month written warranty on the part and the labor. It does not cover new drops, liquids or third-party opening.
- Water-damaged phones: we clean the board and do our best, but there is no guarantee the phone will fully recover.
- Back up your phone before handing it over. Screen, battery and port repairs do not touch your data.
- Mangocel is an independent repair service, not an Apple or Samsung authorized provider.

Is there an Apple Store in San José, Costa Rica?
No. There is no Apple Store anywhere in Costa Rica. Apple products are sold through authorized resellers such as iShop and iStore.
Where can I get my iPhone repaired near the San José airport (SJO)?
The airport is in Alajuela. We coordinate iPhone repairs in Alajuela and Río Segundo, near the airport hotels, with quotes in English on WhatsApp.
Will an independent repair void my Apple warranty?
It can. If your iPhone is still covered and you can wait, use Apple. If not, an independent repair is faster and cheaper.
