iPhone screen repair in Alajuela usually takes one to two hours when the part is in stock. Before anyone opens your iPhone we tell you, in English, which screens exist for your model — a premium OLED that looks very close to the factory screen, or a cheaper standard LCD — what each one costs in colones, and how long the written warranty lasts.

OLED, LCD and “original”: what you are choosing
First, the honest part: no iPhone screen sold in Costa Rica is 100 % original. Apple does not sell parts to independent shops here, so every screen comes from factories in China in different grades — some so good they pass for original. Anyone promising a “genuine Apple screen” at a shop price is not telling you the whole story.
iPhone X and newer (except the XR and 11) use OLED screens. A premium OLED keeps colors, brightness and battery life very close to the factory screen; a cheap LCD replacement (“incell”) costs less but looks duller and uses more battery. On the iPhone XR and 11 the original screen is LCD, so the gap is smaller.
We show you both options with the price before the repair, and we transfer True Tone from your old screen when the model allows it. Face ID is tested before and after, because it lives next to the screen and must not be damaged.

There is no Apple Store in Costa Rica
If you were planning to walk into an Apple Store: Costa Rica does not have one. Apple-authorized resellers sell devices but screen repairs usually take days. An independent repair is the fast option when you are traveling — just know that iOS will show a “non-genuine part” notice in Settings after a third-party screen on iPhone XS and newer.

Parts, warranty and diagnosis
About replacement parts
No replacement part sold in Costa Rica is 100 % original — not even for iPhone. Every part comes from factories in China. What changes is the quality, and we tell you which grades exist for your model, and what each costs, before the repair.
- Standard. The budget option. On phones that came with an OLED or AMOLED screen it is usually an LCD (incell) panel: it works fine but looks a little duller and uses a bit more battery.
- Premium. A good-factory OLED or AMOLED screen, or a battery with the same or higher capacity than stock. Colors, brightness and battery life very close to what the phone came with.
- Original-grade. The best quality that reaches Costa Rica: by eye and touch it is hard to tell apart from the factory part. It still comes from China and is not an Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi part. Not available for every model.
- Free diagnosis, no obligation to repair.
- Screens and batteries: 1-month written warranty on the part and the labor. It does not cover new drops, liquids or third-party opening.
- Water-damaged phones: we clean the board and do our best, but there is no guarantee the phone will fully recover.
- Back up your phone before handing it over. Screen, battery and port repairs do not touch your data.
- Mangocel is an independent repair service, not an Apple or Samsung authorized provider.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an iPhone screen repair take in Alajuela?
One to two hours when the part is in stock, which is the usual case for iPhone 11 to 15. Less common models may need two to five days.
Will Face ID still work?
Yes. Face ID is not part of the screen; we test it before opening the phone and again before you pick it up.
